DOGUS MAKES BWSL DEBUT WITH LEOPARDS
Playing in the Betfred Women’s Super League is a dream for many young aspiring girls, especially with players like Jodie Cunningham and Amy Hardcastle paving the way. However with the new structure to the league a few years old now, more clubs are wanting to align the men’s and women’s teams to challenge in the top league, something that Derek Beaumont and his Leigh Leopards have done.
RWSM’s Hattie Dogus has been a key part to the Leigh squad and building a relationship with the Leigh spine, especially the left hand side, she has become a staple in the team. Playing at fullback, Hattie has shown great determination in defence and brings an unpredictable nature in attack. In the first 3 matches of the season, winning 2, Hattie has been a standout, scoring a Hat-trick in the first game against Barrow, and then going over again against Super League regulars Warrington Wolves.
Hattie has continued to show her strengths under high kicks and is always organising the line. With her connection with Halfback Leah Morris, she will help take Leigh further this season and look to build on what has been a great start to life in the Super League.
