SUPER LEAGUE LIGHTS UP VEGAS

Cardiff, France, Toronto, Barcelona, even Wollongong… over the years, British rugby league has been showcased in several countries, but none have reached the levels of that in 2025. Las Vegas was next on the list and it certainly didn’t disappoint. Allegiant Stadium, home to NFL side Las Vegas Raiders, was the venue, with not one, not two, not 3 but four matches, showcasing what many dub as “the best sport in the world.” With build-up coming from many Sky outlets, including football pundit Roy Keane in a post match segment, all eyes were set on the opening match, a fierce Super League derby between Wigan Warriors and Warrington Wolves.

For 60 minutes, it was one-way traffic, with Wigan taking a resounding lead. However a late resurgence from the wolves brought the match to a closer 48-24 scoreline, with Wigan taking the spoils.

Other results from the rugby event were:

Canberra Raiders 30-8 New Zealand Warriors (NRL Round 1)

England Women 4-90 Australia Jillaroos (Friendly)

Penrith Panthers 28-22 Cronulla Sharks (NRL Round 1)
